All of a sudden the robots stop and a large -vehicle- rolls up to the scene. The source of the "tree trimmings" are gigantic metallic robots with chainsaws for hands and huge hulking arms, which storm closer and closer toward the old man and the huge tree (that being The Tree of Life). The children turn around to see that trees toppling over and stumps that had once been proud and strong trees. All of a sudden the sounds of buzz saws fill the forest and frighten the children that had been listening to the old man's tale. He states that in its sap resides the power of life, and it then produced seedlings for all of the other trees in the forest. The camera then pans down to a man sitting under a strangely huge tree lecturing four children about the fantastic "Tree Of Life". The episode opens with an owl flying over a large forest, filled with all kinds of trees and animal life. Can the Planeteers stop a super-powered Blight? She uses the sap to create a perfume that grants her superpowers, making her powerful enough to fight Captain Planet on even ground. Blight cuts down the Tree of Life, a redwood that contains the powers of the Earth. Just their near presence to any ring holder will jam communications between the rings and the Heart Ring.The main characters featured in this episode are:ĭr. Their thoughts can't be read and they can't be tamed or controlled as their hearts are entirely pure evil.

The main antagonists of the series have multiple immunities to the Heart Ring. It also will not tame extremely frightened or agitated animals. It has no effect on inanimate objects, artificial animals, organisms with no heart, organisms not native to Earth, or extremely evil humans such as the Eco-Villains. It can not communicate with other ring holders if that holder is unconscious or if an Eco-Villain is in the presence of that holder. Like the other rings, the Heart Ring will not activate if: Captain Planet has been summoned, the ring has come in contact with pollution, or the pollution level in the area is high.
It is always the 5th and last ring used in the process of summoning him. The Heart Ring gives Captain Planet his witty sense of humor, courage, good-natured personality, and the ability to think.

Used effectively Heart is the strongest, most powerful ring however Ma-Ti is so kind-hearted he doesn't use it to its full extent which is why Gaia gave it to him. The Heart Ring can illuminate dark areas, expose the true identity of disguised persons and makes the owner immune to mind control. Inside the human body, it can summon antibodies to heal and also recharge the other rings. It can influence the decisions of people and animals. It can sense the presence of any animal, summon them for help and read their thoughts if they need help. It's capable of delivering mass warning messages to nearby citizens, be used to locate any magic ring that is separated from its owner or any person that's close to a ring holder. It can be used to communicate with Gaia and the holders of the other 4 magic rings as long as they're all conscious. Despite being the least offensively capable magic ring, it makes up for this by having a plethora of uses. The Heart Ring gives its holder the abilities of telepathy and empathy to a limited degree. Over Seasons 2 and 3, the hum was abandoned but retained the beating sound. Later episodes in Season 1 changed the sound to a swifter staccato beat sustained by a higher-pitched wavering hum. In early episodes, the sound was a staccato thumping rhythm similar to a beating heart. The Heart Ring's activated sound effect has alternated the most of the five rings. Starting in Season 4, the Heart Ring loses its unique sound effect, its silver band, and its trademark eccentric circles. It along with the Fire Ring are the only magic rings to have silver bands for the first 3 seasons. When activated, it makes yellow energy in the form of multiple uneven circles. It is activated when the holder says "Heart" while clenching their fist. The Heart Ring began with a yellow stone and a red heart emblem inside it later seasons changed both stone and heart to a reddish-pink.
